Some how it works!! Room 1

Choosing colors for any space is a bit difficult. Specially when you are considering if it matches the rest of the place & furniture.

It amazes me that some people are just born with it! They mix & match patterns, colors & textures perfectly! When you brake down the patterns/colors/textures they used into swatches & put them next to each other ; they are so different that you can't see what they have in common to use them together?

I can't help but wonder how did they do it?!
(Carrie bradshaw's line LOOL!)

So, I am going to research some rooms & find out how it works!

Room 1:
photo linkIn that room the designer used candy colors. As they are lower intensity than normal pure colors, the common thing between them is the amount of White poured in them while mixing. So adding 3 colors or more from pastels is no problem as long as they are separated with White borders.

So I played around with the 3 colors shown in the photo above & here is the result

It looks like that the portion of Pink is more than the Yellow, because Yellow is a strong color that stands out more, but the truth is, they are all close to each other in amount of color! It's just the eyes are trained to see deferent shades of the same color as One & also forget that White is a color too!

So here you have it; Yellow, 2 shades of Pink & White. They all have deferent textures & patterns, but fits perfectly!

I hope you liked this post. It was a good exercise for me :)

Here is a link to Polyvore so you too can make some mood boards & mix & match ;)
